Women students offered new scholarship scheme by IIT Bombay

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is signed between IIT- Bombay and Kotak Education Foundation (KEF)to provide financial assistance to women students from undeserved communities. The financial support of Rs 2.85 lakh per year till graduation course is provided under Kotak-Kanya scholarship. Apart from financial support, the scholarship focuses on holistic development of scholars through various student engagement initiatives, according to the institute.

Benefits of the Scholarship:

  1. This scholarship provides medical and engineering students with additional subscription of Unstop and Marrow respectively.

  2. The scholarship has a holistic approach which prepare students from future challenges

  3. Selected students receive engagement support such as mentoring sessions, life skill and mental well-being sessions in collaboration with finishing school organisations

 

Eligibility Criteria for the scholarship:

  1. Candidates should secure rank 2 within top 20,000 in JEE

  2. Applicants must score 75 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA in class 12

  3. Annual family income of candidates must be less than Rs 5lakh

  4. Girls who have demonstrated excellence and secured admission to the first year of UG courses in the academic year 2024-2025 at IIT- Bombay for the graduation degrees like B.Tech, BS, BDes and integrated Mater’s programmes.
