IT stands for Industrial Training Institutes. These institutes work under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Union Government.
These colleges offer industrial and technical training after completing secondary science education. Almost every state holds its own IT admission test to give industrial training in a variety of technical and non-technical crafts or streams, such as machinist, welder, fitter, and footwear maker.
The State Council for Vocational Training in Uttar Pradesh conducts this exam for admission into several trades in its own, assisted, and privately owned and managed training centers and institutes.

A candidate must be at least 14 years old and have finished Class 10th in science for engineering and technical trades, or Class 8th for non-technical trades. There is no maximum age for applicants to qualified for these exams
Students' courses last between 1 and two years, depending on the stream. These courses have attracted more candidates due to their higher employability potential in less time than other standard graduating degrees.
