West Bengal NEET UG; physical stray vacancy round cancelled

The Directorate of Medical Education, West Bengal, has cancelled the physical stray vacancy round, instead now the procedure will compromise three rounds for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) medical and dental counselling. Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3

The official notice regarding the cancellation stated that "due to an inadvertent glitch," the physical stray vacancy round was mistakenly included in the WB NEET UG counselling process.

In addition, the Directorate has amended the minimum marks required in the qualifying examination for physics, chemistry and biology, as per the official statement for Pwd category now the required in the qualifying exams for physics, chemistry, and biology combined have reduced to be 40 per cent instead of 50 per cent.

The counselling began from August 21 ,2024, will conclude on August 23,2024. It is mandatory for the candidate or the candidate to have West Bengal Domicile in order to participate in the counselling process.

Following is the schedule for the counselling process

Registration: August 21- August 23,2024

Payment: August 21-August 23,2024

Preference List: August 27- August 29,2024

Seat Allotment: September 2, 2024

Allotment letter: September 3- September 5 ,2024

Candidates belonging to a reserved category must submit a caste certificate during the registration process as prescribed.  In addition, they are also expected to submit the caste certificate issued on or after April 1 signed by the respective authority.

West Bengal NEET UG for the session 2024-2025 has cancelled the physical stray vacancy round. The eligible candidates will be allotted seats in three rounds. The last date to register is August 23,2024.
