The Cabinet of Uttar Pradesh has approved the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Promotion Policy ,2024. It aims at improving the quality education for the state youth. The policy has provisions like stamp duty, exemptions, capital subsidies and special incentives for sponsoring bodies. It has extra benefits for universities ranked in the top 50.
The higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay mentioned, that this initiative will boost private investment to meet the standards of higher education. The state shall provide students access to high quality education locally. The initiative aims to create employment for both direct and indirect employment for young people in UP.

During the meeting, the cabinet approved the establishment of two new private universities. One in Mathura and other in Meerut. The Rajiv Memorial Academic Welfare Society has granted the permission to establish KD university in Mathura. The Vidya Bal Mandali recieved approval for the university in Meerut on a 42.755-acre campus.

Moreover, the government has announced a scheme to promote self-employment by providing offering subsidies on loans up to Rs 5 lakh for projects in microentprises and service sector. MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan told, the initiative aims to set up 10 lakh micro units in the span of next ten years, providing financial support to one lakh educated and trained youth each year.

The scheme aims to boost employment opportunities in areas for rural and urban, for building cooperation among young people with self-employment ventures. Applicants must have at least an eighth-grade education, though priority will be given to those who have completed intermediate-level education.

Uttar Pradesh Council has taken several initiatives to promote education and development. It has recently got approval to open six medical colleges as well. It is committed to upliftment and betterment of students and youth. Now two private universities will be established , one in Mathura and other in Meerut.
