Union Minister Jitendra Singh motivates DU students to become torchbearers

Union Minister Jitendra Singh on October 16,2024, Wednesday asked the student of Delhi University to become ‘torchbearers’ in leading India in development by 2047.He laid emphasis on the reforms which have been introduced in the past decade have focused self-confidence in Indian Youth and elevated their stature on the global stage.

Speaking to Delhi University students, Minister Jitendra Singh referred to them as the "torchbearers of 2047 India," urging them to lead the vision of a "Viksit Bharat 2047" as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as per an official statement.

Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel, stated thus during an even held at the Daulat Ram College. The event was about certificate distribution and felicitation ceremony.

He gave insights about several programmes which have been implemented by the government in the past decade which have directly benefited the youth and students. "It has been an amazing journey as India comes a long way from fragile five before 2014 to become top five," Singh was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

As per a statement from the personnel ministry, in the first 100 days of holding position, the government has approved infrastructure costing around Rs 15 lakh crore and are also committed to building 12 industrial nodes which will create employment for around 40 lakh youths.

Minister Jitendra Singh focused on the prime minister's self-certification initiative, introduced shortly after assuming office, noting that it eliminated the need for youths to seek document certification from gazetted officers-reflecting the government's trust in young people.

While talking about the start-ups, Minister Jitendra Singh mentioned about how government has significantly nurtured and accelerated the start-up ecosystem in India. Beginning from 350-375 start-ups before 2014 the number has significantly increased to approx. 3.75 lakh, bringing India to the third-largest in the world in terms of start-ups.
