University Grants Commission (UGC) National eligibility test (NET) test was conducted by the National Test agency (NTA) June 2024, in computer-based test (CBT) test mode. It was scheduled between August 21,2024 and September 4,2024 across different cities in the nation. The re-examination was conducted after the cancellation of the June 18,2024 exam.

After the analysis, it was found the Re-NET examination was majorly on the expected lines. The emphasis was given to both, the dynamics and the core subjects. In total the difficulty level of paper was moderate. Students found it comparable to the usual level of previous examinations that have been conducted by NTA.

As per the analysis, students who prepared thoroughly and covered the basics in depth the paper 1 was manageable for them. It included topics such as Teaching aptitude, research aptitude, data interpretation and higher education.

In the higher education section, the pattern of questions was like that of UPSC and State PSC Exams. The focus was on establishment years of universities, the chronological orders and the contributions by the governor general, the National Education Policy was also given importance

In the environment section, the topics included air pollution, climate change, global warming.

There were questions on latest technologies, such as ChatGPT to assess how well-versed aspirants with trends are.

Interestingly, the maths and reasoning section followed the expected pattern, the data interpretation was comparatively easier than exam on June 18.

In conclusion, the exam was favourable for students who had focused on the core concepts in detail and practiced the previous years’ question papers. As CBT mode is back, the questions were lengthy and included assertion and reasoning and statement-based questions. It is advised for the upcoming aspirant to focus more on practicing question papers.
