Top 4 tips for passing IPMAT

Many MBA candidates are quickly choosing the IPMAT (Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude) as their first option for gaining admission to some of the most prominent B-schools in India. As IPMAT draws nearer, aspirant candidates should remember a few guidelines.

 1. Form and Context

Math, logic, and English skills (except IIM Indore: just Math and English) for Integrated Management Programs. +4 for correct, -1 for wrong (important). Exams are timed differently (120 or 150 minutes). Logic Reasoning: figuring out arguments (strong/weak). Verbal Ability: vocabulary, reading comprehension. Quantitative Aptitude: basic math to advanced topics. Number of questions: 90-120. Review the syllabus to find your strengths and weaknesses, then plan your approach for each question type.

 2. Getting Ready

Understand the IPMAT syllabus and format thoroughly, especially in the final weeks. Tackle tough questions early to learn new approaches. Practice regularly on both strong and weak areas to ensure a good score. Consider a "risk zone" of questions you might attempt even with a penalty.

 3. Management

Find the easy questions and answer them right away. Focus on topics you know well. Narrowed it down to two options? Pick one! If you are not sure? Leave it for later, if time allows. There's no penalty for skipping questions.

 4. Approach

Believe in yourself and prep with a positive attitude. Do mock exams to boost confidence and test your skills. Avoid last-minute stress by working consistently.
