Chief Minister Mohan Majhi gave out some of the recruitment letters during an event at Kalinga Stadium. It was in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Teachers were appointed across all 30 districts of the state. Majhi Stated “Teaching is the most respectful profession and teachers shape the future of society”

“In ancient times, gurus (teachers) were compared to Lords like Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswar,” he mentioned while addressing the crowd.

The chief minister also talked about; his government substantially raising the budgetary allocation for education.

“Fulfilling promises at double speed! Appointment letters to more than 16,000 newly-inducted teachers were handed over today to strengthen the school education landscape.

Moreover the Union Education Minister also mentioned about the step taken by Odisha government and posted through X.“This large-scale recruitment is a massive step towards improving the quality of education, ensuring better learning outcomes and securing a bright future for Odisha’s children. CM Shri @MohanMOdisha ’s govt under the guidance of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi is working 24—7 to realise aspirations, fulfil poll promises and achieve the goal of Viksit Odisha by 2036,”.

However, the opposition BJD, however, mocked the BJP for taking credit for teachers’ recruitment. They stated “The previous BJD government had completed the entire recruitment process. The BJP has no role in it, but takes credit just by distributing appointment letters,” the regional party said in a release.”

Meanwhile in recent months the Odisha government has significantly taken steps in the sector of education, from changing school uniforms to planning to establish one medical college in each district and now recruiting 16,000 primary teachers in order to provide qualitative education.
