A date for the announcement of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 result is set for this coming Wednesday, according to UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar.
The date for the release of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG results would be revealed soon, according to University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar. The initial plan was to reveal the results of the crucial test by June 30. The test serves as a gateway for admission to undergraduate courses. The National Testing Agency (NTA) hasn't given a status update on the situation, though.
The university academic schedule is anticipated to be affected by the postponed release of the CUET results.
The UGC chairman says, "NTA is working on CUET results and will announce a date soon."
There have been continuous concerns concerning purported irregularities in numerous competitive tests, including NEET and NET, which align with the delay in disclosing the results. For the first time ever, the hybrid exam in Delhi the previous evening was abruptly cancelled due to logistical concerns. The exam was then rescheduled and held at the nation's capital at a later time.
Because all tests were administered in a single shift, the NTA had already announced that the third edition of CUET-UG would take place across seven days without score normalisation. Of the sixty-three topics, fifteen had pen and paper tests, and the other forty-eight had computer-based tests.
More than 13.4 lakh applicants applied for the common entrance exam this year with the intention of getting into undergraduate programs at 261 private, state, deemed, and central institutions.
There were technical problems with the exam when it was first administered in 2022. Additionally, score normalisation was required for result announcements because subjects were delivered in multiple shifts.
The NTA Director General Subodh Singh was recently fired by the Center amid concerns about alleged anomalies in the NEET medical entrance exam and the PhD admission NET. A high-level panel headed by former ISRO leader R. Radhakrishnan was also formed. The panel's responsibility is to guarantee the fair, easy, and transparent administration of exams conducted in accordance with the NTA.
UGC-NET was cancelled when the education ministry received information indicating compromised exam integrity, while NEET is now being investigated for a number of issues, including an alleged paper leak. Both instances are being looked into by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
As a precaution, two further tests, the CSIR-UGC NET and NEET-PG, were cancelled.
