Registration for the new certificate program will be open to diploma holders (10+2+3) from an accredited university or engineering graduates in mechanical, electrical, automotive, and related fields. September 29 is when this program is scheduled to start. The cost of the course is Rs. 1,10,000 + GST.

Certificates of completion from CEP, IIT Delhi, will be given to participants upon successful completion of the program with a minimum grade of 50 percent and maintaining a minimum attendance of 50 percent.

An official statement on the subject states that the program is designed for professionals who are switching from internal combustion engine technology to EVs and HEVs, as well as those who want to further their expertise in the field, and it attempts to give a strong foundation in EV/HEV technology.

The IIT Delhi Certificate Programme will include topics such as thermodynamics, IC engines, electric machines and drives, power electronics, automotive hybridisation, battery design and modelling in order to satisfy the demands of India's EV market and close the gap in the EV industry.

Insights in line with the FAME program, a Capstone project, live workshops led by distinguished IITD academics, and beneficial networking possibilities within the automotive industry are all available to participants. Additionally, the program offers an optional one-day campus immersion at the Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) at IIT Delhi, exposing participants to cutting-edge infrastructure.

Graduates of the curriculum will be able to describe the workings of internal combustion engines, the procedures involved in hybridising and electrifying vehicles, the diverse electric machines and propulsion technologies used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and the concepts of various energy storage systems. Additionally, they will learn how to test and model techniques for characterising battery safety, reliability, and performance.
