Meghalayan school textbooks to have QR codes for additional resources

By adding QR codes to school textbooks, the Meghalayan government is significantly improving the quality of instruction.

Education Secretary A Marak unveiled this project on Wednesday with the goal of giving pupils quick access to more information.

Marak states that equipping students with more information resources and enhancing their time management abilities is the initiative's main goal.

"We are integrating rapid response (QR) codes with supplementary content on a given topic into school textbooks. The goal is to support students' time management skills and provide them with the opportunity to learn more subjects of their choosing," he clarified.

Availability of digital resources

Through the use of their mobile devices, students can scan these QR codes to gain access to an abundance of instructional applications that include video courses and answer keys. Students can concentrate more on their studies and spend less time looking for study materials as a result.

"By scanning QR codes with mobile devices, students can access educational apps featuring video lessons and solved question papers, thereby reducing the time spent searching for study materials and enabling greater focus on learning," Marak stated.

Aid from education departments

R Manner, the director of the Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), emphasised the possible advantages of integrating QR codes into particular textbooks. He pointed out that this could help pupils a great deal in their efforts to do better in certain subjects.

The initiative was also commended by Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma, who emphasised the government's commitment to offering Meghalayan pupils comprehensive educational resources.

With the potential to improve accessibility and efficiency for students throughout the state, this creative move ushers in a new era for Meghalaya's educational system. With the ability to combine traditional and digital learning methods, the introduction of QR codes into textbooks is poised to completely transform how students interact with their study materials.
