MCC issued the revised eligibility criteria for stray vacancy round

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the eligibility criteria for participating in the stray vacancy round. Candidates can view the full notice issued by MCC which has all the guidelines mentioned in it, through the official website at mcc.nic.in

According to the official notice, " This is hereby informed that in due compliance of the court directions, as passed by the Hon'ble High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam in "W.P No. 36967 of 2024 in the matter of "Namitha C. N vs Medical Counselling Committee & Ors.", 01 seat of Sri Lakshmi Narayan Institute of Medical Science Kudapakkam Post, Villianur, Puducherry (Institute Code- 200380) is being added in the Stray Vacancy Round of NEET UG Counselling, 2024." 

The updated eligibility criteria:

  1. Applicants without any seat in the All-India Quota or State Quota can participate in the Stray Vacancy Round conducted by MCC.

  2. Applicants who were allotted seats in Round 3 by MCC but did not join are not eligible for the ‘Stray Vacancy Round’. However, those marked as ‘Not Reported’ in Round 3 can participate in State Quota counselling.

  3. Applicants who accepted State Quota seats in earlier rounds cannot participate in the MCC Stray Vacancy Round.

  4. Applicants who do not join the seats allotted in the Stray Vacancy round will lose their security deposit and be barred from the NEET exam next year.

  5. A list of applicants who joined the seats in MCC Round 3 will be provided to state counselling authorities and these candidates will be ineligible for State Quota Counselling.

Candidates allotted seats in the stray vacancy round will have to accept and join he assigned college, failing to do so will lead to the disqualification from the next NEET exam.
