The Kerala government has announced the establishment of seven centres of excellence as part of a ground-breaking initiative to enhance the state's higher education system. The goal of these centres, which are an essential part of the large-scale "Study in Kerala" campaign, is to make the state a top choice for higher education, particularly for students from abroad.

Higher Education Minister R. Bindu emphasised during a conference that this extensive revamp is the result of the suggestions made by the Higher Education Reformation Commission.

The 'Centres of Excellence' will encompass a range of disciplines, including science and technology, language and culture, and social science, and they will promote innovative research that is internationally recognised.

"Our goal is to elevate the quality of higher education and make Kerala a beacon of knowledge and innovation," said Minister Bindhu. The first phase will soon begin after administrative approval was given.

In November or December, a higher education conclave is planned to support these revolutionary educational reforms. This gathering of diverse universities will highlight Kerala's dedication to high standards in education even further.

Innovative non-degree courses on the state's creative heritage, indigenous wisdom, tourism, and gastronomy are also part of the "Study in Kerala" initiative, specifically designed for overseas students. Kerala's rich cultural legacy is being highlighted in addition to its goal of drawing in international researchers, making it an alluring place to study and explore.
