Karnataka launches 'Nipuna Karnataka to enhance skills in IT sector
The State Government of Karnataka has launched Nipun Karnataka. The initiative comes as a goal to enhance the skills of students in information technology (IT) sector. It is a programme created to empower the youth of Karnataka with the industry relevant skills. To meet the requirements of the growing IT sector.

The highlight of the programme is to focus on bridging the gap between education and industry requirements. They aim to fulfil the goal through targeted training programmes and strong public-private partnerships.
A Rs 300 crore budget has been allotted to this programme. It will be implemented by the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KEONICS) and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM). In addition, leading companies like Infosys, Wipro and TCS will also play a significant role in contributing to curriculum development, trainings, internships and placement opportunities.
Moreover, the programme also aims to leverage corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds from IT firms. The reason is, so they could support the infrastructure development and training resources. It is to ensure the students receive practical experience and job-ready skills.
The government’s goal is to position the state as a global IT leader while creating huge employment opportunities for the young generation.
