The Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE-3) is set to begin on July 19; the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) declared on Tuesday that sophisticated security measures will be implemented to prevent paper leaks and other malpractices.

This decision comes after the previous TRE-3, which was canceled on March 15 because of a question paper leak.

The additional procedures, which included using several sets of question papers, e-admit cards with barcodes, and installing jammers at all 400 examination centers, were described by BPSC Chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai at a press conference.

Over three days, from July 19 to 21, the exam will be administered in one sitting per day and twice on July 22 in 27 districts.

It is anticipated that almost 6 lakh applicants will take the tests. Manubhai clarified that although the commission had prepared several sets of question papers, the particular set to be utilized was chosen only a few hours before the test.

On the day of the exam, the District Magistrate will be notified of the selected set at approximately nine in the morning. To improve security, separate color codes will be used for the question papers.

Each examination center will have jammers installed to prohibit dishonest tactics further. Additionally, 10,000 CCTV cameras will be monitoring the centers, all of which will be linked to a central command hub located at the BPSC office.

There are also new procedures in place for moving exam question papers from printers to testing locations. The documents, which are printed at many locations and have different security features, will be driven by senior government personnel in sealed, GPS-enabled vehicles.

Legal action will be taken against candidates whose fingerprints, even after several efforts, do not match or who do not pass facial recognition tests. Anybody found to be participating in unethical behavior will not be allowed to take any more BPSC exams.
