IIT-Bombay partners with BITS Pilani for research and innovation

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and BITS Pilani signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on September 27, to cooperate on research, innovation, and skill development. Under this agreement, IIT Bombay and BITS Pilani will concentrate on working with outside partners and performing collaborative research at respective facilities.

In addition to knowledge transfer and technology development in response to social concerns, this Memorandum of Understanding will detail cooperation in fostering positive scholarly and industry engagement. The primary objectives of collaboration encompass collaborative research projects, consulting, student internships, faculty exchanges, and the development of contemporary technology.

A few of the main goals of the partnership between BITS Pilani and IIT Bombay are to improve knowledge management, advance technological advancement, and upskill human resources through ongoing education, among other things.

This Memorandum of Understanding will facilitate joint research projects; industry-focused consulting; student internships; and group submissions for research funding. Both institutes will focus on building ecosystems, which will require close collaboration between business and academics through the formation of precompetitive consortia for research in emerging technologies and the hosting of visiting faculty.

Through this MoU, new avenues for research, skill development, and innovation are made possible. Professor Ramgopal Rao, vice chancellor of BITS Pilani, said, "Together, we look forward to giving our students plenty of opportunities so that they are all set to succeed in the future with the emergence of pharma, healthcare, and engineering."

A foundation for research, innovation, and industry partnership is laid by this Memorandum of Understanding between IIT Bombay and BITS Pilani. Technology growth will ultimately be accelerated by the plethora of chances it will present for teachers and students to collaborate on research projects, internships, and expert advice. Students will be better prepared for problems in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and engineering sectors, among other businesses, thanks to this relationship.
