IIT Patna: Scholarships to support UG and PG students

Annually, the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) awards numerous scholarships to students who demonstrate merit. Some of the IIT Patna scholarships are given as reductions in tuition fees, while others are given directly to students in the form of bank account transfers.

List of scholarships and eligibility

Apart from the central scheme scholarships, which include the top class education scheme for Undergraduate Students from SC, the National Fellowship for Postgraduate Students and Scholarships for Postgraduate Students for Higher Education, the Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for Undergraduate Students in Colleges and Universities, the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles for Undergraduate Students, and the Merit-cum-means based Scholarship for Students from Minority Communities to Pursue Professional and Technical Courses for Undergraduate and Graduate Students, IIT Patna additionally provides state scheme scholarships, UGC scheme scholarships, institute scheme scholarships, academic excellence awards, and donor scholarships.

1. UGC Scheme Scholarship

Northeastern students are eligible to apply for scholarships via the ISHAN UDAY scholarship program for UG students. This scholarship aims to give all students in the northeastern region equal chances for higher education and to prioritize professional education in the region.

2. Institute Scheme Scholarship

Merit-based scholarships are awarded to deserving and distinguished students by IIT Patna. Merit-based scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students and students enrolled in two-year MSc programs.

3. Academic Excellence Awards and Donor Scholarships

Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award: The best fourth year Undergraduate student in the CSE department for exceptional all round performance, excellent organisational skills and leadership qualities are awarded with the Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award. Names are recommended by the CSE department.

Shri Jagdish Nath Tripathi Memorial award: The top first-year UG student in the institute's civil and environmental engineering department, accepted through JEE, would be given consideration for the award if their CPI in the second semester is 8.00 or above.
