In the sessions, ‘In-Situ-Measurements- is a session which aims the monitoring of critical structures in challenging terrains. The technology has instrumental in assessing the health of the Pamban Bridge, specifically regarding corrosion-related structural deficiencies. The session features Professor U Saravanan, he is from the department of Civil Engineering at IIT Madras. He will present an invited lecture focusing to give insights to students to engage in complex projects of national significance.

One unique feature of the conference is, the commitment to sustainability. All the coordination is processing through a mobile application. The app offers comprehensive information about the event , abstracts, schedules and networking opportunities for delegates. Aligning to this initiative , no printing material are distributes , such as abstracts or proceedings . The conference will mark the first for IIT Madras and reinforcing its dedication to environment sustainability.

Professor K Ramesh mentioned the importance of uniting experts from diverse fields, solids, fluids and bioengineering. That too on a single platform, it is expected to foster interdisciplinary solutions for complex practical difficulties.

The event involves, five plenary talks, 23 invited sessions and around 75 contributed papers and 40 poster presentations.

In the additional sessions, the focus will be on cellular and tissue mechanics and biomaterials which are essential for Indias’s manned space missions. Concepts of metrology and digital photoelasticity will be explored, on solar panner measurement a key area in India’s Make in India initiative.
