IIT Jodhpur to provide BTech programmes in Hindi from new academic session

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur has declared that it will become one of the institutes offering engineering education in Hindi by launching Btech courses in the language for the upcoming academic year.

The goal of this program is to help students who have trouble speaking English. The first Indian Institute of Technology to provide BTech courses in Hindi before this was IIT-BHU.

In both Hindi and English, IIT Jodhpur will offer teaching beginning with first-year courses.

Pupils will be split into two groups according to the language they prefer. This proposal, which was recently approved by the institute's Senate, highlights IIT Jodhpur's commitment to supporting students who struggle with English by offering instruction in their mother tongue.

With the Ministry of Education's recent approval, prospective engineers can now enroll in IIT Jodhpur's Hindi-language BTech program.

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2024) will determine admission to the BTech program. Students have the option to designate their preferred language of teaching throughout the application process.

As a result, before the academic year starts, IIT Jodhpur will split its student body into two parts based on language.

To ensure a consistent level of instruction, the same teachers will be teaching the courses for both language groups. The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2024) results will determine admissions.

This choice is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages native language instruction to increase accessibility and inclusivity in learning.

To this goal, a large number of states have begun or plan to begin offering engineering and medical education in Hindi and other regional languages.

IIT Jodhpur will establish two sections under the new program, according to the linguistic preferences of the students. To guarantee a constant and excellent education, the same teacher will instruct both courses despite their separation.
