The program has so far benefited more than 50,000 kids in 2200 schools throughout the state of Meghalaya.
As part of its unwavering commitment to improving the quality of education in the area, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has been setting the standard for curriculum integration of technology and experiential learning.
Being the only IIT in Northeast India, the Institute has worked on a number of cutting-edge projects to improve Meghalayan education, with an emphasis on teacher development and advanced STEM learning.
These programs aim to provide an interactive, experiential learning environment that is advantageous to educators as well as students.

IIT Guwahati and Samagra Shiksha Meghalaya have worked together on several state-level projects under the Ministry of Education's Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan Projects to improve STEM education, encourage innovation, and develop the capacity of Meghalayan teachers and students. Among these initiatives are:
MEGHQUEST at IIT Guwahati introduced over 4,000 children from over 2,000 schools to cutting-edge scientific research and technology. Seven groups of kids were given packages containing a t-shirt, stationery, certificate, and activity calendar for a three-day stay.
There were more than ten events planned, including athletic activities, soft skill development seminars, and technical workshops. Soft skills courses on leadership, stress management, and communication were held in addition to practical exercises in labs and workshops.
More than 2,000 teachers' educational skills were improved through the School Mentoring project. a two-day science and math mentoring program where researchers and faculty offer advice on curriculum implementation and instructional strategies.
Advanced pedagogical method workshops were held, and WhatsApp groups were created as a means of providing online support.
Kits comprising more than 40 experiments that are in line with the curriculum were created by IIT Guwahati. More than 2,000 teachers received training sessions on how to use the kits, live experiment demonstrations, and teaching materials for carrying out experiments.
