IIT Delhi showcases 1.8 lakh young innovators in India's largest school ideathon, Youth Ideathon 2024 , the fourth edition.

The fourth edition of Youth Ideathon 2024 , India’s largest entrepreneurship competition for school students concluded in New Delhi. It brought together around 1.8 lakh young innovators from more than 5,000 schools across the nation. Among them , the top 100 teen innovators showcased their ideas at Indian Institute of Delhi (IIT Delhi) who made it to the grand finale of the event.

The event was organized by the ThinkStartup and the Management and Entrepreneurship Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) in association with CBSE and IIT Delhi. The Youth Ideathon highlights on boosting innovation among students from class 4 to 12. The event was honoured by various dignitaries like Prof. Narayanan D Kurur, Dean (Academics) at IIT Delhi, and R K Singh, CGM of SIDBI, amongst others.

Dr Biswajit Saha, Director (Skill Education & Training), CBSE, Ministry of Education, Government of India, expressed his delight for the event, he said "The overwhelming response to Youth Ideathon 2024 is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of India's young minds. CBSE is proud to support initiatives like this, which cultivate creativity, problem-solving skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset from a young age."

The six teams who stood out were awarded an incubation grant of rupees one lakh each for their ideas. The lost of teams include Vidyashilp Academy for a water conservation solution, Sanskriti School for an AI-based multilingual learning platform, and Lilawati Sr Sec School for an affordable clean air chimney for MSMEs.

Moreover, the competition featured real-world entrepreneurship experiences, here the students could list and bring investments for their innovations. They did so through the Kid Company raising forty lakh rupees in crowdfunding. Dr Biswajit Saha, Director of CBSE's Skill Education & Training, appreciated the event for inspiring entrepreneurial mindsets among India's youth.

More than fifty thousand teams submitted their initial ideas and over 1,500 advanced to the final stages. The Youth Ideathon 2024 was about showcasing the creativity and potential of young minds of India. The platform boosts entrepreneurship motivating children to turn their thoughts, their ideas into reality.
