IIM Kashipur, a leading Indian B-school, is crucial in promoting gender parity in business education. The 2024-26 cohort has 42% female students in its flagship courses, up from 35% last year. This new cohort, welcomed during a three-day orientation program, includes 196 female students out of 471 enrolled in the MBA and MBA - Analytics programs. Notably, the MBA - Analytics cohort has 75% female students, up from 69% last year.

The new batch is academically diverse, with 37% from engineering backgrounds, 33% from commerce, 12% from science, 6% from arts, and 11% from various other fields. The overall work experience of the batch averages 13 months.

Professor Abhradeep Maiti, Chairperson of Admissions, noted the institute's success in attracting future leaders and conducting the 2024 Common Admission Process (CAP 2024). He emphasized the exponential growth in female students from 11% in 2019 to 42% in the new batch.

Geographically, the new cohort represents 28 states, with the highest numbers from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. IIM Kashipur’s director-in-charge, Professor Somnath Chakraborti, praised the students as brand ambassadors and highlighted the institute's rapid progress in 13 years, aiming to rank among the top 10 IIMs in India.

The institute also enrolled 15 candidates in the doctoral program, including four females. During the orientation, Chief Guest Raj Shekhar Joshi, Vice Chairman of SETU Aayog Uttarakhand, discussed leadership, technology, and the importance of think tanks in digital transformation and policymaking.

The orientation program for the 2024-26 batches of MBA, MBA (Analytics), and doctoral programs ran from June 27 to 30, 2024, introducing new students to academic and social life at IIM Kashipur.
