Gujarat Government seek for 7,500 teachers for permanent recruitment

The Gujarat government has launched a massive recruitment campaign to hire 7,500 teachers for permanent posts in state-run and grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools. This action comes in response to recent protests by qualified candidates seeking permanent employment.

The openings will be filled during the following three months. Candidates who have passed the Teacher Aptitude Test (TAT), which is required for teaching positions in secondary and higher secondary institutions, will be given priority in the recruiting process.

The indicated that 7,500 teachers will be permanently hired in secondary and higher secondary government and grant-in-aid schools over the next three months, emphasizing the emphasis on merit-based selections for grant-in-aid schools. This includes 3,500 TAT-qualified candidates for secondary schools and 4,000 for upper secondary institutions.

According to Mevani, almost 17,000 teaching positions are empty in government-run schools across Gujarat. Nearly 90,000 TET/TAT pass candidates are unemployed since the state government has not launched recruitment efforts.

"These unemployed teenagers have demanded jobs, but the government has never listened. They assembled in Gandhinagar to make their demand. If the government so desires, it may provide them with permanent employment. If their demands are not met, we will deepen the agitation.
