This program, which was launched a few days ago at Government Primary School in Ekta Colony, Abohar, permits pupils to leave their school bags at home on the final Saturday of each month.

Traditional classes are substituted with extracurricular activities like yoga, storytelling, rafting, and class debates on these "bag-free" days.

These activities are designed to enhance children's holistic development, encourage creativity, and provide a stress-free learning environment, according to Fazilka District Education Officer Shiv Pal.

Senu Duggal, the deputy commissioner for Fazilka, emphasized the value of these exercises in fostering manners, teamwork, and communication skills. She defined the program as a step toward giving children access to a more dynamic and engaging environment that will improve both their physical and mental well-being.

Fazilka has 468 primary schools and about 72,000 children. The district administration is committed to providing a comprehensive education beyond traditional textbooks.
