DU to display vacant seats for 2nd round of UG admissions today

The University of Delhi has scheduled to display the vacant seat list for round 2 for the undergraduate courses on August 22,2024. The eligible candidates can check the CSAS portal

According to the admission timeline, DU’s first round ended on August 21, 2024. Once the vacant seats are released, candidates will get a chance to re-order their preferences to select the best for themselves. The duration for re-ordering the preference is from 5PM on August 22,22024 till 4:59 PM on August 23, 2024.

The Second round of seat allotment is scheduled to be released on August 25, 2024. The Candidates can accept the allotted seat by August 27,2024. The college have to approve and verify the admissions within a day by, August 27 ,2024. The last date of fee payment is August 30,2024.

As per the record, there are approx. 71,600 undergraduate seats across the DU colleges. The seat allocation is higher in the first round, as compared to the total seats.

The University stated "In the first allocation round, the University has decided to do extra allocations to fill the seats optimally so that the Academic Session may begin on August 29, 2024. Overall, 97,387 allocations have been made in the First Round. This excludes allocation to Performance-based programs and Supernumerary quotas of CW, ECA, Sports and Ward, and Christian candidates," 

The selection process of Delhi University is divided into three phases. The phase 1 was about applying to the DU college by registering at CSAS Portal, the next phase was about filling the preference list of colleges and lastly the third phase is the allocation-cum-admission process.

The candidates are allotted seats on the basis of their score, CUET rank and preference list.

As per the Du notification, the colleges will begin by August 29,2024.
