Students will be able to concurrently study two degree programs at the University of Delhi (DU). The second degree must be pursued through open and distance learning (ODL) from the School of Open Learning, whereas the first must be pursued through any DU college or department in a regular manner.

As per the official notification from DU, students who are currently enrolled or in the process of enrolling in a degree program at DU are permitted to pursue two degrees concurrently. However, they are not permitted to pursue two academic programs that are similar to each other, like BCom (Hons) and BCom (Pass), even if one of them is taken in the ODL format.

Individuals who opt to pursue two degrees concurrently must fulfill all requirements for each program independently, which include showing up to class, finishing assignments, doing internal evaluations, turning in projects, making presentations, and fulfilling advancement requirements for each degree. Courses like Environmental Science (EVS) or Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) are required for UG programs, depending on which degree the student enrolls in initially. They will be replaced with appropriate substitute courses if these courses are also necessary for the second-degree program.

For example, in their usual program, a student pursuing two undergraduate degrees will study the AEC language and EVS courses. However, in their second ODL degree, they can select a different AEC language, a Skill Enhancement Course (SEC), or a Value Addition Course (VAC). Likewise, in order to prevent duplication, a student pursuing two BA programs may choose courses from the open generic elective (GE) pool rather than retaking a generic elective (language) course.

Each degree program will demand a different research topic or project for the fourth year of the undergraduate study. Additionally, in order to gain a major or minor in any discipline, students will not be permitted to mix credits obtained from the two distinct programs.
