The Delhi government has launched a five-day teacher training program with the goal of identifying gifted students and developing curricula that will optimize their abilities. Since Tuesday, 104 teachers at a government school in Kalkaji, Uttarakhand, have received training from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) as part of "Project Abhishikt," according to officials.

The primary goals of the project are to identify gifted people, choose teachers who can instruct a specialized curriculum well, develop a curriculum tailored to the needs of gifted pupils, and ensure that this curriculum is taught. Closing the gap between these student's present abilities and their enormous potential is the project's main objective. This will be accomplished by offering tailored assistance and a carefully thought-out curriculum to guarantee their success, according to SCERT joint director Nahar Singh.

According to another source, the research intends to explore the unrealized potential of children in Class 6 and Class 9, who are a cut above the rest. Teachers sometimes concentrate on students who struggle academically, which can occasionally result in the ability of bright students being disregarded, the officials said.

The Directorate of Education and the SCERT started the project, according to the officials, to find talented pupils from 15 government schools. "Introduction and Understanding Giftedness" was the focus for the first day of the training program. Teachers were present at a session on Wednesday that covered the project's conception.

Through bridging the performance and potential gaps in gifted students, the Directorate of Education and SCERT collaborated to launch this project, which aims to cultivate their skills. The project aims to guarantee that these children succeed and are not disregarded by the educational system by offering focused support and a customized curriculum.
