In the field of school sports and athletics, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) have established an important partnership through their affiliation.
As of July 8, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) are now officially affiliated. According to a CBSE news release, this partnership will enable winners of the CBSE National Games to compete in the SGFI National School Games beginning in the 2024–25 academic year.
CBSE also issued a caution against an organisation named the CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO) in Agra, which falsely claims affiliation with CBSE to organize sports events. Schools have been advised to avoid any engagement with this entity as it is not officially recognised by CBSE.
The Board emphasized that schools that disregard this advice could face disciplinary action and asked them to use the official CBSE website, https://cbseit.in/cbse/2023/sports, to confirm any messages they get from these kinds of organizations.
