Business Blaster Programme commences in Delhi Government Schools
The Business Blaster programme was launched in 2021. Under the programme top 150 startups were formed by groups of students in classes 11 and 12 .They were provided seed money to implement their business ideas. This was first of an initiative under the government. It was named the ‘entrepreneurship mindset curriculum’, a pilot project in government schools began in 2019.
The Education minister criticized the government at centre , Bhartiya Janta party for not addressing the concerns of unemployment. The youth requires jobs but the government does nothing in this regard. She said “The Delhi government is trying to turn the youth, who emerge from Delhi’s education system, into job providers and not job seekers.”
She continued with citing examples of startups set up after previous Years’s Business Blasters programme, Atishi talked about “A K Logistics was a startup that is now a registered private limited company. After passing Class 12, the students employed 50 people in their transportation business. The student startup, ‘Dark Chocobitz’, which makes customised chocolates, is employing 40 women. Another student startup, which is an eco-friendly one, ‘Disposal Walaa’, is employing 20 people… the ‘Padhai Vadhai’ startup is employing 10 people.”
The minister claimed that, lakhs of jobs can be generated by students due to the opportunity.
As per the annual school calendar for this year’s session, the Business Blaster Expo will be conducted in December.
Delhi Government has taken several initiates in the past years to boost education and skills in students. It has worked on the infrastructure of schools , built new schools , emphasised on mental health counselling for students and staff and now Business blasters , to ingrain entrepreneurship skills in students. The Business Blasters program is a Delhi government initiative that provides seed money and mentorship to school students to start their own startups. The program aims to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among young people.
