Amid continuous rainfall, Schools and Anganwadis in Bengaluru to be closed today
The Schools in Bengaluru have been shut on Monday, October 21,2024, amid the heavy rainfall in the city. The continuous rain has affected the daily life. The District Collector had issued an order for the same. With schools, Anganwadis have also been asked to declare a holiday.
Post the notification, the schools have been directed to be closed. However, all other degree courses, post-graduate programmes, diplomas, engineering and it is will be opened.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put the city on alert. It is a precautionary measure to increase in intensity of rains. The city has faced incessant showers since early Tuesday morning. It has caused waterlogging and traffic jams at several places.
It is advised, for Parents, College Heads of students should ensure that students do not go to low-lying areas with water. They should ensure the safety of vehicles used by students to go to colleges. The District Collector said that information should be given to the students about dealing with natural calamities in the colleges.

As per the latest forecast issued on Sunday, the region will face more of a cloudy sky with moderate rain and occasional heavy thundershowers. Temperatures are expected to hover around a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius in this duration.

IMD has particularly issued a yellow alert, depicting worsening weather conditions which could disrupt daily life in the district of Tumakuru, Mysuru, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kolar, Shivamogga and Chikkaballapura in addition to coastal Karnataka till October 21,2024.
