AICTE's green internship programme

AICTE's green internship programme focuses to transform campuses into eco-hubs.

All India’s council for Technical Education (AICTE) has partnered with1M1B green skills academy and Salesforce. The two have launched a new Green Internship Programme. It aim at offering over 100,000 internship opportunities by 2030 to students from AICTE-affiliated colleges and universities. In its first year, it will provide 10,000 internships.  The programme was launched in the headquarters of AICTE. It aims on equipping students with sustainability skills through hands-on projects. It will focus on transforming into green sustainable spaces.

Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO & Chairperson, Salesforce India, stated, “At the core of Salesforce’s values is our unwavering commitment to a sustainable future, and we are dedicated to empowering the next generation with the skills needed to lead this charge. Our association with 1M1B Green Skills Academy and AICTE reflects this commitment, offering students valuable hands-on experience in green technologies and sustainable practices, preparing them for the jobs of tomorrow, accelerating India’s journey toward a greener, more resilient, sustainable economy.”

The interns will get to work on real-world projects such as energy-saving audits, zero waste systems and renewable energy integration. The programme focuses on building a sustainability mindset. It will be aided by mentorship from industry leaders and gamified learning methods. Students will also get insights on climate-related data intelligence and carbon footprint reduction.  

AICTE Chairman, Professor TG Sitharam, mentioned the importance of the initiative in boosting eco-consciousness and preparing students for green economic jobs. Salesforce India's CEO, Arundhati Bhattacharya, reiterated their commitment to empowering students for a sustainable future, while 1M1B Founder Manav Subodh praised the program’s role in grooming India’s climate talent.

The interested students can apply through AICTE’s internship portal. The top-performing interns will receive certifications ,recognitions and awards. The programme focuses on to preparing students for upcoming jobs in the green economy. At the same time promoting a greener ,more sustainable future for education institutions.
