Assam Grade IV written examination concludes on Sunday , October 27, 2024 with strict measures.
On October 27,2024, Sunday the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) conducted written examination for filling grade IV positions in the government of state. It was successfully and smoothly conducted.
The conduction was under stringent security measures and a state-wide internet suspension. The suspension lasted for three and half hours. The Authorities reported no untoward incident over centres. In the past two months it was the third internet suspension.
The Chief Minister Biswa Sarma released a statement on Sunday , that the written tests under ADRE for posts announced last year have now been concluded. “We will endeavour to publish the results by Feb,” he said. Subsequent to the results of the written examinations, viva and skill tests will be conducted. Appointment letters will be issued on May 10, coinciding with the anniversary of his govt, Sarma further added. The test was held with mobile internet, Wi-Fi and mobile data services being suspended “in the interest of holding free, fair and transparent written examination and also to prevent any law-and-order issues having a bearing on public safety,” an order mentioned on Friday. Voice calls and broadband connectivity based on fixed telephone lines remained functional during this period.
Last month, in September, taking steps toward fairness and transparency in examination, the Assam Government had introduced the Assam Public Examination. They are the measures for prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment Act 2024. The effort came in response to promote transparency and fairness in public recruitment exams. The law imposes strict penalties, which includes imprisonment up to 10 years and fines up to Rs 10 crore for malpractice during recruitment tests. The offenders might also be barred from future exams and underscoring the state's commitment to merit-based recruitment.
Minister of Social Justice Pijush Hazarika announced on X hewrote, “In order to make upcoming recruitment exams transparent, the Govt of Assam, under the leadership of HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has enacted the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024.
