OJEE

The OJEE Cell administers the Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE), a state-level entrance examination aimed at facilitating admissions into B.Pharm, MBA/PGDM, MCA, and M.Tech programs. Scheduled for 2023, OJEE will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format for different papers. Successful candidates, based on their OJEE scores, are eligible to apply for admissions to diverse programs offered by participating colleges affiliated with OJEE. Additionally, OJEE serves as the entrance exam for Lateral Entry B.Tech and MCA/Lateral Entry MCA courses.

 

To comply with the Odisha Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Act of 2007, the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee was established. This committee was formed as per the recommendations of the Policy Planning Body and received necessary approvals from the Government's Skill Development and Technical Education Department. Its primary objective is to organize Common Entrance Examinations and facilitate the counseling process for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses in Odisha.

 

The OJEE Committee is dedicated to conducting fair, transparent, and technologically advanced entrance examinations, ensuring a streamlined admission process for professional courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. For the upcoming academic session of 2023-2024, the committee will oversee the Joint Entrance Examination for undergraduate courses such as B.Pharm, B.CAT, Lateral Entry to B.Tech, Lateral Entry to B.Pharm, and postgraduate courses including MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, M.Pharm, Integrated MBA, and M.Sc. Eligibility Criteria

It is utmost important for the candidates to fulfil all the requirements prescribed in the eligibity criteria before filling the application form.OJEE  exam. Cut Off

The cut off of OJEE 2023 exam will be made available on the official website of OJEE after the conclusion of the examination. After the announcement of the results, candidates can check the cut off released on the official website. The cut-off marks will be released in the form of a scorecard. It is advisable for the candidates to keep a copy of the scorecard for future reference.

 

What exactly is cut-off?


The cut off marks will be the minimum marks required to get admission into the desired program of the candidate. This differs program to program. The cut off marks are determined on the basis of category of the candidate, their performance in the exam, availability of seats in the college and more. 


It is crucial for the candidates to stay updated about the release of cut off marks in order to get timely admission and counselling in their choice of college and course. The cut off marks will be decided by the authorities after the completion of the exam. Candidates who secure marks equal to or above the cut off marks will be eligible for admission.

Exam Pattern

The exam of OJEE 2023 will be a computer-based test (CBT) conducted mainly in English and Hindi languages. It is scheduled from 08-May-2023 to 12-May-2023. 

 

Structure of Question Papers

  • The question paper will have 60-120 questions divided into multiple sections, depending upon the subject.
  • The exam will have a total of 240-480 marks, depending upon the subject.
  • 1-3 hours of time duration will be given to the candidates, depending upon the subject papers.
  • The questions will have multiple-choices to select the answer from.

 

Marking Scheme

  • Each question will carry 04 marks.
  • For every correct answer the candidate will be awarded with 04 marks.
  • For every wrong answer there will be a negative marking of 01 mark.
  • Unanswered questions will not be given any marks at all.

Admit Card

All the OJEE candidates will be given their respective Admit Cards before the examination. The Admit Card is extremely important as no candidate will be allowed to take the exam without the Admit Card. Candidates must carry their Admit Cards to the examination centre. The OJEE 2023 Admit Cards were released on April 24, 2023, on the official website.

Once released, the candidates who have successfully registered for the exam of OJEE can find thier Admit Card on the official website of OJEE. Candidates are requested to check the details mentioned on their Admit Cards prior to the examination.

Candidates are advised to carry an ID Proof along with the Admit Card at the centre of the exam for verification purposes, it is a very crucial document that must be preserved carefully even after the commencement of examination as it may be required during the counselling and admission process.

Seat Allotment

The Odisha Joint Entrance Engineering Board will announce the OJEE 2023 seat allotment result at the official website after the announcement of results for the exam of OJEE 2023. candidates will have to enter their application number and password. This process will be undertaken by each of the participating universities separately. Depending on the availability of seats, the OJEE counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds. During the verification process, candidates will be required to furnish the original copies of their documents along with photocopies for scrutiny. 

 

Candidates will be allocated seats in relevant courses in the university after the counselling of the eligible candidates. The allotment of seats will be based on several factors including,

 

  • Candidate's rank: The rank of the candidate obtained in the exam of OJEE.
  • Candidate's Category: The category of the candidate. Reservations are given to SC, ST and OBC.
  • Seat availability: Seat allotmnet is heavily based upon the avilablity of the seats at the college.

 

Process of Seat Allotment

 

Seat allotment for OJEE 2023 will be announced to candidates via SMS on their registered mobile numbers. The official website will post the seat allotment results, and candidates who are allotted seats must download their OJEE 2023 seat allotment letter and the e-challan from either State Bank of India or Axis Bank.

 

To secure their admission, candidates must pay an admission fee of Rs. 25,000 (comprising Rs. 20,000 as admission fee and Rs. 5,000 as university registration fee) using the e-challan. Alternatively, candidates can pay the admission fee online (credit/debit card/net banking) after logging into their accounts. After documentation verification, the candidates will be allocated their final seats which can be checked online.
