The Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) is a unique opportunity for young and dynamic individuals to contribute to skill development and economic growth. Spanning over two years, the fellowship combines academic modules at prestigious IIMs with hands-on field immersion in districts to devise effective plans and overcome barriers to employment, economic output, and rural livelihoods.
MGNF, a Certificate Programme in Public Policy and Management, is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs), implemented in conjunction with nine IIMs across India.
The 2021-23 MGNF edition will be rolled out nationwide, encompassing over 660 districts. Each participating IIM, including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Ranchi, Udaipur, and Visakhapatnam, will host the program, with IIM Bangalore overseeing the common admission process.
What can participants expect from the fellowship?
The fellowship offers a unique platform to foster skill development within district economies.
This two-year blended program combines classroom learning at IIMs with mentorship during district immersions.
