The University of Lucknow is a public state university based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 1867, the University of Lucknow is one of the oldest government owned institutions of higher education in India. The University of Lucknow is the first public university in the State of Uttar Pradesh to be accredited with A++ status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. LU is a teaching, residential and affiliating university, organized into 556 colleges and 17 institutes, located throughout the city and other surrounding areas. The University of Lucknow, encompasses a diverse range of faculties catering to various academic disciplines. These include the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Science, Engineering & Technology, Yoga and Alternative Medicine, Ayurveda, Unani, and the Abhinavgupt Institute of Aesthetics and Shaiva Philosophy. The University offers Proficiency, Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, PG Diploma, Under Graduate Degree, Post Graduate Degree, Master Degree and PhD Programmes. To encourage physical well-being and sports activities, the campus features sports facilities such as fields, courts, and gymnasiums where students can participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities. The campus also includes comfortable and well-maintained hostels for students coming from different parts of the country, creating a diverse and vibrant community. Moreover, the university often hosts seminars, workshops, and cultural events, fostering intellectual and cultural exchange among its members. The University of Lucknow extends specialized support to students from SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and Minority communities through various coaching programs. Remedial Coaching is provided at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels to enhance academic skills, language proficiency, and comprehension in subjects. The aim is to create a stronger foundation for further studies, particularly in subjects involving quantitative methods and lab work, to reduce dropout rates and failures. Additionally, coaching classes are offered to prepare these students for employment opportunities in central and state services, including competitive exams like IAS, State Public Services, and banking. The Career Placement Cell (CPC) at the University of Lucknow is dedicated to helping students secure placements in well-known multinational companies, government organizations, NGOs, and private sectors. All registered students receive placement assistance, job counseling, and guidance for self-employment. The CPC supports visiting companies throughout the placement process by providing access to university facilities. Serving as a bridge between industry and students, the CPC enables students to explore career options and assists companies in their selection process according to their needs.
