St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is an Autonomous College affiliated to Ranchi University. It is located in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It was founded in 1944. The span of programs by St. Xavier's College consists of Degree, Diploma and Certificate courses including 33 UG and 12 PG courses. These programs are offered in Full Time and Part Time mode. It offers Undergraduate (B.A./B. Com/B.Sc. Honors), Postgraduate (M.A./M.C.A./M.J.M.C) Courses under the faculty of Arts, Commerce & Science. Besides this it also offers Professional, Vocational & Management programmes. The St. Xavier's College campus in Ranchi covers a total area of 12.807 acres and features four distinct buildings: the Main building, B.Ed. and Humanities Building, Gym and Research Building, and Vocational and Management Building. Educational activities are facilitated in these buildings, which comprise classrooms, offices, staff rooms, libraries, laboratories, computer labs, conference rooms, research centers, and spaces for various clubs and societies. The campus also houses three separate boys' hostel blocks, along with a central auditorium, carpentry and blacksmith sections, a Xerox center, canteen facilities, a football ground, basketball courts, a volleyball ground, and indoor games facilities. The campus features 79 spacious and Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, complete with projector facilities and surrounded by verandahs for ease of movement. Staff and Head rooms ensure discipline while conference halls and specialized meeting rooms facilitate discussions. The Central library, automated with "Alice for Window" software, offers online and e-book databases. Department libraries and a PG library supplement resource. The fully-equipped auditorium hosts cultural events and seminars. The campus houses well-equipped labs for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Bio-Technology, Geology, Computer Science, and Geography, with 32 dedicated rooms for hands-on learning experiences. St. Xavier’s College give some fee concessions to SC/ST and BC-1 categories. Also, students can avail the scholarship schemes which are provided by the Government of India or any other organization for pursuing Higher education specially for backward class students.
