St. John's College of Arts and Science is the realisation of a long-held ambition to provide educational opportunities to poor communities along Kanyakumari District's coastline. Reverend Fathers V. John Bosco and Albin Roby founded the college and have served as trustees of the JVDC Trust (Jan Vriend Development Centre Trust) for the past 12 years. This charity was formed with the goal of encouraging higher education among young individuals from disadvantaged origins in the coastal area. The charity is sponsored by Reverend Father Jan Vriend of the Netherlands, who has committed his ecclesiastical and ecumenical philanthropy to assisting the impoverished and marginalised. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was created in 2009 to verify that the college satisfies the quality standards specified by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The IQAC is a separate organisation that is in charge of initiating, monitoring, assessing, and reporting on various actions aimed at improving the quality of teaching, learning, assessment, and research on campus. It follows the NAAC guidelines, which emphasise the need of ongoing improvement and quality enhancement in higher education institutions. The college produces an Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as part of its quality assurance initiatives. This report details the college's efforts and initiatives to improve educational quality and provides a complete assessment of the institution's progress towards its goals. The AQAR is methodically compiled and contains specific information on the various measures put in place, as well as a study of their performance. The report also discusses any issues encountered and the tactics used to address them. Once completed, the AQAR is given to the Governing Body for approval, and required actions are taken to further improve the quality of education delivered by the college based on the suggestions stated in the report. The establishment of the IQAC and the development of the AQAR indicate the college's commitment to ongoing improvement and ensuring that its students receive a quality education. The college can find areas for improvement in teaching, learning, and research by closely monitoring and evaluating various elements of teaching, learning, and research. The Governing Body's participation in the approval and follow-up of the AQAR reflects the college's commitment to transparency and accountability in its quality improvement activities. Finally, St. John's College of Arts and Science is a tribute to the vision and dedication of its founders, Reverend Fathers V. John Bosco and Albin Roby, as well as Reverend Father Jan Vriend's support. The college attempts to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged kids in Kanyakumari District's coastal belt. The establishment of the IQAC and the drafting of the AQAR assures that the college's educational standards and overall quality of offerings are constantly improved. By following the NAAC requirements, the college demonstrates its commitment to providing quality teaching, learning, evaluation, and research.
