RNPI Law School holds significant historical importance due to its connection with the great leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the establishment of Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) in 1945-46. Inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the CVM was founded to promote education and was followed by the establishment of Sardar Patel University. The town of Vallabh Vidhyanagar, where the university is located, was founded by Shri Bhaikaka and Shri Bhikhabhai Saheb of Karamsad with the blessings of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was not only a prominent leader in the Indian Independence movement but also served as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.
The main objective behind the establishment of Sardar Patel University and Vallabh Vidhyanagar was to provide education in rural areas of Gujarat. Both the town and the university were named in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Today, the Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) is the largest educational trust in the region, operating 46 educational institutions ranging from KG to PG and Research, with an enrollment of over 40,000 students. Many influential individuals and legal experts have received their education from CVM's institutions, achieving remarkable success in their respective careers.
To pay tribute to Sardar Patel and the other founders, the late Dr. C. L. Patel, the visionary educationist and Chairman of CVM, established the R.N. Patel IPCOWALA School of Law & Justice in 2012. This law school holds the distinction of being the first-ever law school in India to offer an honors degree based on the choice-based credit system. It provides integrated law courses of 5 years duration, including BA, LL.B (Hon's), BBA, LL.B (Hon's), and B.Com, LL.B (Hon's). The institution is dedicated to providing quality legal education and nurturing future legal professionals who can contribute significantly to the field of law and justice.
Through its rich history, strong foundation, and commitment to education, RNPI Law School stands as a testament to the vision and legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the founders of Charutar Vidya Mandal. It continues to uphold their values and plays a pivotal role in shaping the legal education landscape in India.
