Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) stands as an unparalleled legacy, with a remarkable journey that began in 1981. Recognizing the need for management institutes, the socially conscious Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) took the initiative to establish NMIMS. Starting modestly with a two-year full-time master's program in management studies, the institute had four dedicated faculty members, 3162 books, and an intake of 40 students. Its humble beginnings were housed above Bhaidas Hall in Vile Parle (West), Mumbai. Over time, NMIMS underwent a remarkable evolution and growth. It transitioned from its temporary location at Bhaidas auditorium to a sprawling complex spanning over 5,50,000 square feet in the heart of Mumbai's affluent suburb, Vile Parle. Today, NMIMS has transformed into a renowned Deemed University, encompassing multiple disciplines across multiple campuses. With 17 specialized schools, it has garnered global recognition. The academic community at NMIMS comprises over 17,000 students, 750 full-time faculty members, and 10 faculty members with prestigious scholarships, such as the Fulbright Scholarship and the Humboldt International Scholarship for post-doctoral researchers.
