Guru Nanak College of Education and Research was founded in 1990 and is associated with Mumbai University. The climate here is tough yet supportive, with many possibilities for advancement for students from varied backgrounds. The college is one of the few unassisted teacher training institutes to receive a 'A' grade from the NCTE. In 2005, NAAC awarded it with a B++ rating. The College offers an air-conditioned computer laboratory with 23 personal computers that is well-furnished and well equipped. Students are given specialised instruction in order to prepare CAI presentations. In the computer lab, students also work on their numerous action research projects and reports. A playground on the college campus is utilised for a variety of events. Every year, the College Sports Meet features a variety of field and track activities. Festivals such as Navratri are celebrated with students dressed in traditional clothing participating in Dandiya Raas. The terrain is also ideal for holding open air classes, which may be rather pleasant for a change. The AC Conference Hall is equipped with the latest technology.There is a LCD Projector, DVD Player, Smart Board, a Television, etc.,to cater to various needs.The hall is used for special occasions like research paper reading sessions, inhouse training programs and also for conducting seminars and workshops.It doubles up to become a well furnished Board room during LMC and Academic meetings. The institution includes a well-equipped library with a big selection of books, periodicals, and other resources for students to use. The library also has access to thousands of e-books and articles through internet databases. The college campus is 10 acres in size and features well-kept gardens, sports facilities, and a computer centre. The classrooms are large and well-equipped with modern audio-visual equipment.
