The establishment of Government Polytechnic by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the academic year 2013-14 marked a significant milestone in the field of technical education in the region. Two additional streams, namely civil engineering and electrical engineering, were introduced to cater to the diverse needs of students and industries. This expansion was made possible through the diligent efforts and approval of both the Board of Technical Education in Lucknow and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in Delhi. Their accreditation ensured the quality and relevance of the courses offered at the institute. During its early years, Government Polytechnic was under the capable leadership of Mr. S.R. Gautam, who served as the institute's director. His vision and guidance played a crucial role in establishing a strong foundation for the institute and shaping its direction. In the present day, Government Polytechnic is led by Mr. N. Ram, who serves as the institute's principal.
