Government Polytechnic College, Mainpuri

The Government Polytechnic in Chhachha (Bhogaon) Mainpuri was established in 2013-14 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. In 2013-14, the first batch of classes began with only one stream of Mechanical Engineering (production). Later, two more engineering streams were added: civil engineering and electrical engineering. All courses have been approved by the Board of Technical Education in Lucknow and the AICTE in Delhi. Mr. S.R. Gautam was the first principal, and Mr. N. Ram is the current principal. Located in Chhachha village, Bhogaon Tehsil of Mainpuri district, Uttar Pradesh, the college holds its position as a prominent educational institution. Mainpuri, serving as the district headquarters of Agra division, is situated approximately 120 km east of Agra in north-west Uttar Pradesh. Chhachha village, within Bhogaon Tehsil, lies 5 km away from the sub-district headquarter of Bhogaon and 15 km away from the district headquarter of Mainpuri. According to the statistics from 2009, Chhachha village also serves as a gram panchayat and spans a total geographical area of 1605.74 hectares. The village is home to a population of 11,223 individuals, residing in approximately 1,810 houses. Nearby, Bhogaon acts as the nearest town to Chhachha. Mainpuri derives its name from the renowned Rishi Mayan and is known for its ancient temples, sarus cranes, and tobacco. It holds significance as a major trade center for agricultural products. The primary objective behind the establishment of Government Polytechnic, Mainpuri, was to provide technical education to the youth of Mainpuri and neighboring districts. The institute aims to equip them with the skills necessary to secure employment opportunities in government, public, and private sectors, thereby improving their living standards and contributing to society.
