Zoologist

Zoologist or Wildlife Biologist study animals in the wild as well as in captivity. They try to understand their behaviour and how they interact with their surroundings. They work in laboratories and in the outdoor settings as well and conduct experimentations on animals under controlled natural surroundings. They study the various characteristics of animals such as their reproductive habits, interaction with other species, diseases and movement patterns. 

 

They also figure out how human intervention and activities interrupt or influence their natural surroundings and habitat. By doing so, they forms strategic plans protect the wildlife from  harm due to human activities such as farming and aircraft operations. This is done through the means of research papers and reports with evidences that support their findings. This helps in the making of policies for the protection of wildlife and reducing threat to the animal habitat. 

 

Zoologist usually specialised in either vertebrates or invertebrates. The specialisations may include: Anatomy (study of structure of organisms), Embryology (study of development of embryos), Ethology (study of animal behaviour), Physiology (study of normal functioning of human beings), Soil Zoology (study of animals which live fully or partially in the soil) and much more.
