The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Wednesday that candidates who experienced time loss during the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 have been awarded grace marks. As a result, 67 candidates have achieved NEET All India Rank (AIR) 1, each with a percentile score of 99.997129.
"NTA received several representations and court cases from NEET (UG) 2024 candidates raising concerns about time loss during the examination on May 5, 2024. These cases were reviewed, and the normalisation formula, as devised and adopted by the Supreme Court in its judgment dated June 13, 2018, was applied to address the time loss," stated the official notice.
"The loss of examination time was verified, and affected candidates were compensated with grace marks. Consequently, some candidates' marks could be 718 or 719," the NTA explained.
This announcement addresses concerns from candidates regarding the exclusion of category-wise NEET toppers' marks for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category in the latest NEET result notification. Additionally, candidates have sought clarification on the scores of 718 and 719.
