On July 20 and 21, schools in Madhya Pradesh are required to mark the "Guru Purnima" holiday by hosting events that showcase Indian culture and the guru-shishya tradition. Students will learn about the customary Indian teacher-student interaction, per a directive from the School Education Department.

On July 21, the second day, there will be a lamp-lighting ceremony and a prayer ceremony honoring the gurus and the goddess Saraswati. At a special ceremony, instructors will be honored, and students will share personal narratives that highlight their ties with one another.

The decree from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav describes this program, which intends to inculcate a greater awareness of Indian cultural values and the significance of the guru-shishya bond.
