The app was launched by the Indian Institute of Roorkee which masters societal welfare and innovation. The primary goal of the app is to prepare the people before the earthquake comes and safeguard the people. This app acts as a lifeline during a crisis and provides real-time earthquake alerts and emergence alerts.

The app allows us to share locations with their close ones or relatives and can also track the improvement in the app as well. The app is featured for the immediate response. It also gives information about the earthquake to the users and suggests experts' knowledge and response frequently. The users can get relevant information about the earthquake available on the app. IIT Roorkee, director stated “BhuvDev app will prepare us for the earthquake prior and provide information to users which is only possible with the collaboration of the Uttarakhand government.

It is India’s first regional earthquake early warning system, UEEWS in the presence of The Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and Honorable Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah. The political stalwarts personally interacted with the team and received a detailed briefing on the system’s capabilities and benefits.
