USTC Undergraduate Fellowship 2025: Applications Now Open for International Students

Applications for the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) undergraduate fellowship are now being accepted. Applications are available at isa.ustc.edu.cn, the official scholarship website.

Students will be eligible to apply between October 20, 2024, and March 31, 2025. Applicants must register for an account in the USTC Application System and choose the fellowship they wish to apply for in order to submit an application. Candidates may apply simultaneously for two levels or for only one level. Based on the applicant's overall elevation, USTC will determine which fellowship level may be awarded. Only one scholarship may be awarded to each candidate.

Two levels of USTC undergraduate scholarship are available:
Level A, supported by USTC, consists of a 2,500 RMB monthly stipend, comprehensive medical insurance, tuition remission, and housing subsidy;
Level B, which is USTC-funded, offers tuition reimbursement.

Eligibility for Candidates
- Candidates must be non-Chinese nationals in good physical and mental condition and hold a valid passport.
- HSK exam exemption is available to applicants who have passed new HSK Level 5 or higher, have Chinese as their first language, or can demonstrate that they are enrolled in a high school where Chinese is the primary language of instruction.
- By July 2025, candidates must have completed high school, which is the same as a high school diploma in China.
- By September 1, 2025, candidates must be under 30.
- To guarantee that they will finish their studies and receive their degrees before July 2025, graduates must submit a Pre-graduation Certificate in order to receive their degrees in 2025.
- Those who have already received funding or scholarships from China in 2025–2026 are not eligible to apply for this program.

Students should keep in mind that notarized translations in Chinese or English must be attached to documentation in languages other than Chinese or English when applying for this award.
