UPSC Prelims 2024: Important guidelines for the exam hall

The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024 is planned to take place on June 16, 2024, at various exam centers around the country. UPSC applicants must take two papers for the UPSC CSE Prelims exam. The first exam will be place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and the second from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. UPSC has stated that all candidates must appear at the exam center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Candidates are not permitted to enter the exam center beyond the deadline

Dress Code

There is no dress code for the UPSC examination, although hopefuls should dress comfortably, in light colors, and modestly on exam day. Female applicants should avoid wearing expensive accessories or heels. Candidates should avoid using smartwatches and instead opt for traditional wristwatches.

 

Things to carry during exams

Participants will be permitted to bring just an e-admit Card, a pen, a pencil, identity evidence, and copies of their photographs (whichever is applicable). They may be allowed to bring any other things indicated in the e-Admit Card Instructions to the event. No other objects may be taken inside the examination hall.

 

Things not allowed

Candidates are not allowed to enter the examination hall with valuable objects such as mobile phones, smart/digital watches, other IT gadgets, books, or bags. Failure to do so will result in an inability to participate in future efforts. The venue supervisors will not make any preparations to keep these goods at the venue.
