The University Grants Commission has declared free entry to Amrit Udyan , which was previously known as the Mughal Garden at Rashtra Pati Bhavan for students, teachers, and sports personalities across the nation. The decision comes on the occasion of National Sports Day and Teacher's Day.
As per the official notice, National Sports Day will be observed on August 29, 2024 and Teachers Day on September 5, 2024 with the Amrit Udyan opening specially for sports personalities and teachers on these respective days.
The mentioned community will not be charged any fee for the visit.

The nearest metro station to Amrit Udyan is Central Secretariat, which is on yellow and violet line. The Entry will be from Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, near North Avenue

An official notification on the website reads, "It is informed that the Hon'ble President has decided that August 29, 2024 will be celebrated as National Sports Day and September 5, 2024 as Teachers Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan, with Amrit Udyan being open exclusively for sports persons and teachers on respective days."
Few days back , the government announced visit to Amrit Udyan to public from August 16,2024 to September 15,2024. The place remains closed for maintenance every Monday.Amrit Udyan has often been portrayed, and deservedly so, as the soul of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Originally, it included East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden.
