Vice-President Abhi Dahiya and other NSUI members are the targets of a formal complaint (FIR) filed by Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) President Tushar Dedha, who charges them with destruction and a violent attack on the DUSU office.
Significant property damage was caused by the incident, which happened on July 14, 2024, at around three in the morning at the DUSU office on Chatra Marg.
Dedha claims that the attackers, under the leadership of Dahiya, forced their way into the office and destroyed numerous student-related records, priceless artifacts, and a fossil watch that was valued at Rs 18,500. An estimate of Rs 13,800 is the incident's overall financial loss.
Dedha further claimed that Dahiya had put pressure on him to steal Rs 18 lakh from the DUSU budget. This comes after Dahiya made accusations against Dedha last week, claiming that Dedha had applied to Delhi University using forged paperwork.
Sections 331(4), 305, 329(4), 324(3), 298 and 35 of The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) are included in the FIR, which is recorded at the Maurice Nagar Police Station under FIR No. 0121.
Yash Nandal, Ronak Khatri, Siddharth Sheoran, Harsh Ahlawat, Mohit Bhaskar, Prabhat Maan, and Luvdeep Saroha are the other members of the NSUI.
